科技巨擘Sony已經加入數位隱形眼鏡的研發競賽了。

送交美國專利商標局的一項申請顯示，Sony計劃開發能夠拍照和錄影的穿戴式鏡片。

Sony在2013年5月，就已在美國申請智慧隱形眼鏡的專利，但媒體本週才獲知這項消息。

這項裝置不但能拍照和錄影，還能儲存資料，而且不需要連接智慧型手機。

他們的隱形眼鏡搭載了有機電激發光（OEL）顯示器。

只要眨一隻眼，使用者就能透過顯示器操作隱形眼鏡。

相機功能將包括自動對焦，自動曝光調整，和可調式變焦。

隱形眼鏡也能錄製、儲存和播放影片。

在Sony研發這項科技多年的消息曝光前，
是由谷歌（Google）與三星（Samsung）引領潮流。

谷歌在2014年曾透露正在開發高科技隱形眼鏡，以協助糖尿病患，透過淚液測量血糖。

三星則表示，他們正打造設有迷你相機的智慧隱形眼鏡。

看來一切的一切都能被偷拍的時代，已經不遠了。

Digital contact lens gives a glimpse into the future.

Tech giant Sony has joined the race to develop digital contact lens technology.

According to an application filed with the U.S. patent office,
Sony has plans for a wearable lens that can take photos and video.

Sony filed a patent in the U.S. in May of 2013 for a smart contact lens

— a fact only picked up by the media this week.

The device would not only take photos and video, but store data,
with no need for a tether to a smartphone.

The lens would feature an organic electroluminescence display screen.

By blinking an eye,
the user would be able to operate the lens via the display.

The camera would feature autofocus, automatic exposure adjustment and an
adjustable zoom.

The device would also be able to record video, store it and play it back.

The news that Sony has been working on this technology for several years
follows a trend set by Google and Samsung.

In 2014, Google revealed a high-tech lens to help diabetics measure glucose
levels in their tears.

Samsung unveiled plans for a smart contact lens that houses a tiny camera.”

It seems a time when anything and everything can be filmed on the sly is not
too far away.
